Funny story—I didn’t set out to start Moon Mountain Design Studio. In fact, I was kind of forced into it. What began as helping friends and family with their design projects quickly snowballed into a full-time career—and honestly, I couldn’t be happier.
My path here wasn’t exactly a straight line. I began in the medical field, diving into osteopathic and pre-med studies before shifting to Clinical Herbalism at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism. Along the way, I realized that healing can take many forms—and that creativity is its own kind of medicine.
I went back to school and earned a B.S. in Sociology and a B.A. in Visual Anthropology. My thesis—a four-year photo documentary exploring gangs and their families—was featured in the Harvard Journal and ignited my passion for using visual storytelling to create understanding and connection.
That mission drives my work today. I believe design should do more than just look good—it should make people feel something. Every project I take on is rooted in the idea that design matters, and so does your voice. My goal is to create thoughtful, beautiful experiences that resonate deeply and anticipate your audience’s needs.
When I’m not immersed in wireframes and Pantone swatches, you’ll probably find me off-grid backcountry adventuring, playing with watercolors, or working on plant conservation efforts. Nature fuels everything I do, and I try to bring that same sense of purpose and wonder into every design I create.

DREAM IT:DESIGN IT
"Lauren is one of the most creative and energetic professionals I've known. She is always upping her game, looking for better ways to get things done and totally dedicated to the task at hand. She brings total competence to everything she does. Lauren is a joy to know and work with!"
Donna Jobert, City of Boulder
"Lauren's technical skills are excellent, but what was much more valuable to me was her ability to bring ideas to the table on how to improve the visual appeal of our newspaper as well as new and creative ways to market the newspaper and encourage readership. She spear-headed several independent projects for the newspaper and they were among the most popular editions I published in 3 years as editor."
Caitlin Young, New College of Florida
"Lauren is gifted at what she does in terms of being a fast learner, customer oriented, dependable, and a pleasure to be around. I couldn't recommend anybody more highly than Lauren..."
Jonathan Sackheim, Grounds For Promotion, Founder
